For over three decades, I’ve dedicated my life to storytelling—amplifying the voices of communities often unheard. As an award-winning journalist and columnist, I’ve reported on critical social issues like poverty, homelessness, mental health, addiction, and abuse, writing for The San Antonio Light, The Houston Chronicle, and the San Antonio Express-News. My passion for storytelling has also led my work to appear in publications like The New York Times, Texas Monthly, and the San Antonio Report.
Now, my mission has evolved into helping others navigate their journeys toward healing and hope. Together with my husband Mark, a retired nonprofit executive, and our child, Sam, a creative writer and teacher, we embrace the power of honest conversations to transform lives.
